Rate Monitor’s Rate Management / Update section offers the following:

How it works

Rate Monitor is tightly coupled to the Revolution™ Reservation System, though the Rate Monitor Revolution - Connector. This connection allows automated transfer of your rate data into the Revolution rate matrix, at your command.

First, Rate Monitor collects the competitive rate data you’ve requested using the scheduled searches that you select. Second, Rate Monitor takes the rates collected, and compares them to your revenue management strategy. It evaluates your rates, looking for the situations that you care about, and highlights them.

Then, Rate Monitor presents you with a “to-do” list of changes to future rates for each location and car type. You always have full control over the rate changes, and can pick and choose which changes to make. At the same time, you have the luxury of using an automatic assistant mode once a revenue management strategy has been selected. This allows the system to remain vigilant, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The system can automatically correct any rate it finds, which does not adhere to your strategy. Rate Monitor carries out this collection, comparison and correction process every day, or more often, to maximize revenue.

Optionally, Rate Monitor can talk external systems, enabling it to process data from your reservations and rental system to incorporate current utilization levels and bookings. This additional information can then be factored into the any competitive rate comparisons and rule evaluations.
